Dr. Min Addy
My name is Min M. Addy. You may call me Min Laoshi or Dr. Min. After growing up in China, I moved to the United States to attend the University of Florida. While in Florida, I earned a Ph.D. in Agriculture and Biological Engineering. Afterward, I moved to Minnesota and met my husband. For the last 11 years, I have led research teams and taught at the university level.
The education of future generations is critical for everyone to keep up with a rapidly changing world. I believe it is this first level of education that will set the path for our children. As a parent of two girls who attended Jie Ming, I value and support the education they are receiving there very much. In 2019, I joined Jie Ming to support Principal Bobbie Johnson's effort to build an excellent school.
My goal as a teacher is to educate the next generation by developing strong critical thinking skills and a sustainable living mindset, along with the combination of Chinese language and wisdom. I would like to cultivate their inner strength for continuous growth and incorporate basic Engineering concepts into the curriculum to strengthen the STEM program at Jie Ming.
Besides work, I enjoy hiking, reading, cooking, making friends, and learning new things. I hope the coming year will be a wonderful experience for both the students and myself. Please let me know if you have any questions.
