Dear kindergarten families,
你好! 欢迎!Hello and Welcome!
Welcome to Jie Ming Mandarin Immersion Kindergarten! My name is Wenjuan Li. You can call me Li Laoshi, which means Ms. Li in English. I am going to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year! I am so excited that your child is going to be in my class!
Let me start by sharing some information about myself. I grew up in beautiful Midwest China. My major in college was Applied Psychology, and my favorite course is Child Psychology, which focuses on child growth and helps me understand how to support my children step by step when they grow. I worked as a student counselor for university and high school students during my college studies and training. Later, I worked in a company doing foreign trade in one of the largest cities in China, Shanghai, before I came to the U.S.. Now, I live in Saint Paul with my husband and three children.
Why did I become an elementary school teacher? Because I love kids and want them to grow up healthy both physically and emotionally. I worked as a pre-kindergarten teacher at Minnesota Chinese Daycare / Learning Center and as a Chinese culture teacher at Jie Ming Mandarin Immersion Academy before I became a Kindergarten teacher. It’s my first time teaching kindergartners this year and I hope my passion and commitment to teaching will open a window for the kids to see the beauty of the world, and help them develop an interest in exploring many beautiful things around them. My goal of kindergarten teaching is to help students lay a solid foundation for their future learning path. I will do my best to make learning a fun and enjoyable time for your child. I also need your support to make this school year successful.
I'm looking forward to a wonderful year with you and your child!
Sincerely,
Wenjuan Li (Li laoshi)
